While not known as a bustling industrial hub, Howell Township does span over a large area of land and includes some of Monmouth County’s busiest roads. Some of these roads include Route 33 (the Freehold Bypass), U.S. Route 9, and Interstate 195. Take these heavily traveled roads and supplement them with the residential drivers that comprise the over 50,000 residents and you can see why Howell Township issues a great deal of motor vehicle tickets ever year. Specifically, between July 2011 and June 2013, Howell issued over 16,000 traffic tickets. Of these 16,000 a significant amount involved Driving While Suspended citations, under N.J.S.A. 39:3-40. Depending on your driving history and the reason for your suspension, you could be facing mandatory jail time and possible indictment under N.J.S.A. 2C:40-26.
