NJ MVC Suspension Hearings Held in Paterson, NJ
Effective March 24, 2014, the Paterson regional office of the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission began holding license suspension hearings for New Jersey drivers with pending administrative license suspensions. The addition of this “conference center” as a potential license suspension hearing location relieves many North Jersey drivers who formerly would need to make a personal appearance at the Trenton Motor Vehicle Commission some 70+ miles away.
Attending a Paterson NJ MVC Suspension Hearing
Once a hearing is scheduled (many times based on an attorney’s written request for a hearing) at the 125 Broadway address in Paterson, NJ, drivers contesting their suspensions (and their attorneys) must show up on the date and time indicated on the Paterson Motor Vehicle Hearing notice mailed to their last recorded address. If a driver misses this hearing date, they are automatically issued a suspension for the period initially proposed in the Notice of Scheduled Suspension.
Drivers looking to reschedule their hearing dates may only do so “for good cause,” and this must be done in advance of the date of their Paterson MVC Hearing.
